Ragdolly Anna

NB: I am sorry but I  cannot make these characters into rag dolls for sale
as I do not own copyright on them.

Ragdolly Anna by Jean Kenward (1979) was

the story of a little doll that was made out

of scraps of material by a little dressmaker.

"Although she's only made from a morsel of this and a tatter of that, Ragdolly Anna is a very special doll. And within hours of beginning to live with the Little Dressmaker, the White Cat and Dummy, she embarks on some hair-raising adventures."

Sadly these stories are not quite classics, though they do feature a rag doll.

RAGDOLLY ANNA YORKSHIRE TV, UK (mid '80s)

Anne Wood's (from Playdays) experiments with new ways of storytelling on television were influenced by her own daughter's love for a special rag doll. These experiments led Anne to adapt the book 'Ragdolly Anna' by Jean Kenward into a television drama for young children.
The Little Dressmaker was Pat Coombs.             http://www.tv-ark.org.uk/childrens/c-itv_m-r.html

This was a programme that Anne Wood made when she was working for Yorkshire Television. It was adapted from the books of the same name and written by Jean Kenward.

The huge following that developed for 'Ragdolly Anna' first gave Anne Wood an inkling of the gap between younger children's needs and the provision of good television for them.
