UK Doll Hospitals

Doll Teddy & Toy Repair Service
www.toyrepairs.co.uk

Hilary Brown has been running a doll's hospital for over 10 years now: "and whether it is a tired Teddy, a damaged Doll or a Toy that is loved but battered and broken, then she is sure that she can repair most of the problems that befall these as time passes and the years of cuddles take their toll. However, she knows that some people are unwilling to trust their broken doll or teddy to the postal system.  Doll's hospitals are few and far between but she is building up a list of hospitals located elsewhere in the UK.
If you fancy having a go at repairs yourself then she has some really good suppliers listed on her site.

There are over 700 dolls in the collection from many nations and covering a vast time span. Also doll's houses and christening robes.

'A doll is an inanimate object that represents a human being in miniature'. Between 1954 and 1970 Mrs. Mollie Hardwick collected dolls in her Dunster cottage. This collection invites for many of us a trip down memory lane and demonstrates the interests and skills of doll-makers past and present.
