The Brief:
How are you at making Asian baby dolls? All the Asian dolls in the US are hard and I like soft dolls.  I would like to have a soft, rugged and washable Chinese doll.

 

Jasmine
A nursery-style Chinese rag doll, made in 2003, South Brent, Devon. Made & designed by Sara Maddocks. 

I made her clothes contemporary with a Chinese style Mandarin collar and long straight pinafore dress. Her features are also embroidered. I used black crochet cotton for her hair.

The Verdict:
"We received the doll in the mail yesterday, we were beyond excited!!!! You have incredible talent. I have taken the doll to show my sister and my mother. In fact I like carrying her around she's got so much personality. I'm going to take her to work tomorrow. I love all the little details particularly the fingers and toes. Thank you so much !"
