Cloth Doll Connection

HISTORICAL or ETHNIC COSTUME. We are here to share our expertise in doll
making and costuming and to learn more about these areas too. We have
challenges a couple times a year.

There
are groups for contemporary and vintage cloth doll patterns but the days of
the 70's and early 80's when cloth doll making was re-awaking is mostly
ignored. During this time there were many small, home-based doll designers
who kept their typewriters and Xerox machines busy. Some evolved into the
dollmakers of today and others have disappeared. This list is for those of us
who collected these early patterns. To help keep their designs alive and
educate newcomers to cloth dollmaking about who they were.
